550,000 elderly people nationwide participate in Vinamilk's health care program

The series of seminars was held in Hanoi, Nghe An, Ben Tre and many districts in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of more than 3,500 elderly people.

During the seminars, Vinamilk organized many useful activities such as measuring osteoporosis and providing health care and consultation for the elderly.

Directly consulting and examining the health of the elderly is a team of prestigious doctors from Vinamilk Nutrition Examination and Consulting Center and major hospitals across the country.

The series of seminars organized by Vinamilk not only creates opportunities for the elderly to meet and exchange, but also spreads the spirit of living happily and healthily to the elderly community in Vietnam.

Starting in 2012, Vinamilk has now accompanied and taken care of the health of more than 550,000 elderly people nationwide. In 2017 and the first 6 months of 2018 alone, 166,500 elderly people participated in Vinamilk's activities and the company is further promoting its goal of "Accompanying and taking care of the health of 1 million patients and elderly people in Vietnam" by the end of 2020.

As the leading nutrition company in Vietnam, Vinamilk always focuses on implementing activities for the development of the community, improving the quality of life through nutrition for Vietnamese people, thereby aiming at sustainable development. Especially for the elderly, nutrition is extremely important and needs attention. Therefore, "Nutrition for the elderly" is often the main topic in Vinamilk's seminars.

In a recent workshop in Ho Chi Minh City that attracted more than 600 elderly people, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, working at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, shared a lot of useful knowledge. For example, the doctor gave some dietary principles that the elderly should pay attention to. In addition, the doctor also noted some groups of substances that are necessary for the health of the elderly such as plant sterol (good fat), DHA and Palatinose (friendly sugar). These groups of substances are abundant in vegetable oils, fruits, whole grains, fish, milk, etc. Therefore, these foods need to be supplemented more often in the daily diet.

Also at the program, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Head of Vinamilk's Adult Milk Powder Department introduced special nutritional products for the elderly.
