6 houses on fire at midnight

While everyone was getting ready to go to bed, suddenly house number 43 Nguyen Duy street (ward 9, district 8, HCMC) caught fire and spread, causing damage to 5 neighboring houses.

Initial information, at about 10:45 p.m. on December 30, the house at the above address caught fire from the back. The fire then spread to neighboring houses. When the fire was discovered, the family members ran away, shouting. Some people mobilized fire extinguishers to control the fire and help families move valuable assets out.

Because the burned area concentrated many makeshift houses along the banks of the Doi Canal, with many flammable materials, the Fire Police mobilized many firefighting canoes to approach from the direction of the canal to spray water to put out the fire.

A few minutes later, 5 other fire fighting units from districts 1, 6, 7, 8, the Fire Fighting Command Department with 23 specialized vehicles and 130 officers and soldiers also arrived, trying to control the fire on land.

After more than 30 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. As of 1 a.m. on December 31, the fire department still maintained a number of fire trucks spraying water to cool the scene, preventing the fire from flaring up again.

According to a leader of the District 8 Fire Police, they determined that the fire threatened many houses in the area, so they mobilized many forces and asked for support from other units, so the fire was quickly extinguished.

At present, the authorities have determined that two houses were completely burned down, and the remaining four houses were burned to varying degrees. The fire did not cause any human casualties.
