(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 26, 600 athletes from Chau Thuan commune (Quy Chau district) gathered to compete in the 8th Sports Festival of the commune. This is a model festival organized by the district People's Committee.

The congress will take place over 3 days, with athletes competing in 6 categories: men's and women's volleyball; shuttlecock throwing, men's and women's pole pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting, and stilts. The competitions at this congress have been carefully prepared by 10 villages of Chau Thuan commune, with better quality than the previous congress. This year, Chau Thuan commune has combined mass art performances with 20 performances bearing the identity of the Thai ethnic group in the Western region of Nghe An.

This activity aims to improve the quality of the physical training and sports movement of the masses and sectors in the area, contributing to the development of traditional sports. The congress will select outstanding athletes to participate in the District Sports Festival held in the fourth quarter of 2017.
