On July 12, a sudden heavy rain came down with continuous thunder and lightning, so 7 people from Phu Xa village, Van Mon commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province, who were working in the fields, ran into the village house in the middle of the field to take shelter from the rain and sun. Suddenly, lightning struck the rain shelter, killing Mr. Truong Duc Cong and causing the other 6 people to faint.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, 45 years old, one of those struck by lightning, said, when the storm came, we were working in the fields, so the seven of us ran into the village house to take shelter from the rain and sun. A moment later, there was terrifying thunder and lightning, and then we all passed out.

About an hour later, when I woke up, I saw Truong Duc Cong had fallen outside, his clothes were torn, and he had a head injury, so I called his family to take him to the emergency room and take us home.

Mr. Binh added that his legs were paralyzed for 3 hours and he felt nothing. The other brothers had headaches and pain in their limbs, which are still painful and dizzy.
