78 student projects won prizes at the Science and Technology Competition for the 2019-2020 school year

On the morning of December 31, the Department of Education and Training held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes to the provincial-level Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2019-2020 school year.

At the end of two days of judging, according to the organizers' assessment, the projects participating in the contest demonstrated many new scientific ideas, had research skills, proposed quite complete solutions, many projects were practical, highly feasible, and many projects approached technological solutions in the 4.0 era.
Notable projects include the application of deep learning in diagnosing metastatic breast cancer by a group of students from Phan Boi Chau Specialized School; the application of IOT in taking attendance and managing students by Dang Thai Mai Secondary School students, or the device to support early movement of paralyzed legs of stroke patients with hemiplegia by a group of students from Phan Boi Chau Specialized School...
In addition, most of the projects have appropriate research content and methods; the research process, diary entries and scientific report presentation meet the innovation requirements of a scientific work.

Some projects have approached large, general problems or used advanced techniques in university laboratories, hospitals, research institutes, and specialized agencies.
In particular, many projects have practical meaning, researched from concerns and discoveries through folk experiences, through the desire to improve the work and daily life of students such as multi-purpose water wheels, garbage vacuums, post-harvest orange processing...
This year's competition saw the participation of many ethnic minority students, with 11 out of 19 projects winning high prizes.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 78 projects that won provincial prizes (60.46%), including 7 projects that won first prizes, 19 projects that won second prizes, 27 projects that won third prizes and 25 projects that won fourth prizes.
In addition, 8 other units were awarded collective prizes. The first prize went to the Vinh City Department of Education and Training, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted; the second prize went to the Do Luong Department of Education and Training, Huynh Thuc Khang High School; the third prize went to the Dien Chau Department of Education and Training, Nghia Dan, Ethnic Minority High School and Que Phong High School.

The Organizing Committee also selected two outstanding projects to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition held in Da Nang City. These are the project of Deep Learning Application in Diagnosing Metastatic Cancer Through Lymph Node Biopsy Samples and the Project of Device to Support Early Mobility of Paralyzed Legs in Stroke Patients with Hemiplegia. Both projects are from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Speaking at the award ceremony, comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee - Director of the Department of Education and Training congratulated the success of the contest and the schools and students who won the prizes.
The Department's leaders also affirmed that the results of the competition have shown that the quality of comprehensive education has gradually affirmed its position. In addition, they hope that after the competition, students will not rest on their laurels but will continue to develop and perfect their ideas, and nurture their love for scientific research.
