8 communes in Nghe An registered to reach the new rural model finish line by 2025

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, by the end of 2024, Nghe An had 16 communes meeting the model new rural standards. In 2025, 8 communes in 5 districts registered to reach the model new rural finish line.

According to statistics of the Provincial People's Committee, implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction (NTM), in 2024, the Prime Minister decided to recognize 2 districts (Dien Chau and Hung Nguyen) meeting NTM standards.

It is expected that by the end of 2024, the whole province will have 8 more communes meeting the new rural standards, 34 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards, 10 communes meeting the model new rural standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting the new rural standards to 327/411 communes, reaching a rate of 79.56%. Of which, 127/327 communes meet the advanced new rural standards (accounting for 38.83%); 25/327 communes meet the model new rural standards (accounting for 7.62%). The average number of criteria is 17.21 criteria/commune. There is 1 district-level unit that has completed the task and met the new rural standards.

The Provincial People's Committee also approved the list of localities registered to meet the standards of New Rural Area, Advanced New Rural Area, and Model New Rural Area by 2025.

The registration list includes:

District meeting advanced NTM standards: Nghi Loc District.

District meeting model new rural standards: Nam Dan District.

Communes meeting model NTM standards: 8 communes in 5 districts: Hung Nguyen, Thanh Chuong, Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc and Yen Thanh.

In conjunction with the construction of the new rural areas, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has been effectively implemented. In 2024, Nghe An will have 58 new products recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards, and 4 products that have achieved 4-star OCOP standards will be re-recognized.

By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 739 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, of which 1 product has 5 stars and 2 products have 5-star potential (submitted to the Central level for approval and evaluation).

Nghe An is the second province in the country in terms of OCOP products achieving recognized star ratings.
