96 district and commune doctors attend family medicine training course

This specialized class has a training period of 6 months. The training class has 96 students who are doctors working at the grassroots health care level in the province. The class lecturers are professors and doctors of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

This is the first time that Nghe An Health Department has organized an on-site orientation course with a hands-on training model right at the facility. Organizing the training course at Dien Chau District General Hospital and Medical Center helps these 96 doctors to both grasp the theory and have the opportunity to practice.

After this course, doctors will be granted certificates and additional practice certificates to ensure health insurance examination and treatment activities at the grassroots level. Speaking at the opening of the course, the leader of Nghe An Department of Health asked the students to continuously strive to study. The directors of district-level health units created the best conditions for the students to complete their tasks.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh, Acting Director of Nghe An Department of Health: The organization of the class aims to concretize the upcoming steps of Nghe An health sector in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, primary health care for people at the grassroots level associated with the implementation of health stations operating according to the principles of family medicine.

By the end of 2017, the whole province had 480 health stations, of which 421 communes, wards and towns met the national criteria for commune health. However, in reality, the majority of commune health stations have not met the requirements. Commune health stations have only achieved an average of 33.6% of the technical list. The number of health stations with ultrasound machines and electrocardiogram machines can be counted on the fingers.

Improving the quality of health insurance examination and treatment at the grassroots level is an urgent requirement, not only contributing to improving people's primary health but also reducing medical examination and treatment costs, ensuring the balance of health insurance examination and treatment funds in Nghe An.
