UK, France reassure people after IS releases provocative video
On January 25, the French and British governments spoke out to reassure their people and rejected the threats reflected in a video released by the Islamic State (IS) organization a day earlier, which showed images of nine extremist Islamic gunmen suspected of participating in a series of bloody attacks in the capital Paris (France) last November and threats against countries participating in the military coalition against IS in Syria and Iraq.

Speaking from New Delhi, French President Francois Hollande, who is currently visiting India, asserted that "nothing can make France yield in the fight against terrorism."
Meanwhile, in the UK, Prime Minister David Cameron's office said the video showed "a horrific terrorist organisation that is clearly in decline."
A day earlier, IS posted a 17-minute video recording images of four Belgians, three French citizens and two Iraqis believed to be the perpetrators of a series of shooting attacks in Paris.
The video shows the suspects in IS-controlled territory in Syria shortly before the attacks, in which all nine men are seen carrying out barbaric acts such as hanging and executing people they call “hostages.”
The video also shows Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected mastermind of the attacks. He fought in Syria and was killed in a French police raid days after the November 13 attacks.
The speakers in the tape also threatened countries participating in the US-led coalition against IS in Syria and Iraq. The video features a picture of British Prime Minister Cameron with the words “those who do not believe will be punished.”
The video was produced by the IS media center Al-Hayat. The footage was reportedly taken in an area controlled by IS. The video was released more than two months after a series of shootings and suicide bombings at bars, restaurants and a concert in Paris on the night of November 13 that killed 130 people. Seven of the nine suspects died in the attack, while two later died in police raids. However, the exact number of those involved in the attack has not been confirmed./.
