Mr. Son develops a high-tech farm model
(Baonghean.vn) - To contribute to promoting the process of transforming the rural agricultural economic structure, Anh Son district has many solutions to create favorable conditions for people to invest in developing high-tech farms and initially achieved positive results.
Model Building
Recently, in Anh Son, many agricultural models have appeared.high tech agricultural applicationsto increase added value, income price per unit area. The pioneer in this field is Mr. Dang Van Thien, who boldly received 5 hectares of land on the hilltop of Kim Tien village, Phuc Son commune to do farm economy. He invested in Israeli technology to build a greenhouse system, installed a drip irrigation system to grow melons for high income and established a clean agriculture joint stock company.Mr. Sonhas a reputable brand on the market.

Mr. Thien said: “In 2017, the unit boldly invested 2 billion VND to improve the land, rent excavators, bulldozers to level and build 3 net houses with an area of 3,000m2. We followed the correct procedure, each net house had an area of 1,000m2 to grow 2,500 melons. During the care process, technical staff from related departments in the district always supported a lot of information, care experience... so the first melon crop in this area (2018) yielded a high yield, with a total output of more than 3.5 tons of fruit sold at a good price (more than 420 million VND) and stable output; in just 3 crops in 2018, the unit had a total revenue of more than 1 billion VND; the product was recognized as meeting VietGAP standards and that helped Anh Son melon expand its market, put on shelves in major supermarkets. To meet consumption demand, the farm is currently invest and fully prepare conditions for the new melon crop in early 2021, including 7,500 trees.
Anh Son is a land of tea trees, but up to now, there has not been much investment in high technology in tea growing like the farm model of Mr. Pham Van Than in Long Son commune. Mr. Than shared: “After many meetings with leaders of Anh Son district in Ho Chi Minh City, I learned that the district's policy prioritizes attracting investment in high-tech production, so I decided to return to my hometown to build a tea farm. In 2017, when I returned to Long Son commune, the relevant levels and sectors in the district created favorable conditions to receive 14 hectares of land to invest in renovating the tea and acacia farm.”
The farm has the advantage of having a year-round water stream that is dammed to create a 3,000 m2 fish pond, and at the same time, it is also renovated to raise turtles, eels, etc. This is an abundant source of water for irrigating the hill tea plants. Mr. Thien has invested in a high-capacity pump system and built a 600 m long water pipeline system with automatic sprinklers, so young tea plants planted at an altitude of 50 m still have water all year round.

By taking the initiative in this issue, the survival rate and good growth of the trees reached 99% in the initial investment phase of the farm, and on the tea business area, the irrigation water increased by 30% and the tea quality was very high. Currently, Mr. Than is investing in researching a vacuum water pump system (no need to use electricity) and if successful, this is a model that is very easy to apply to growing tea trees on high hills (with a water source in the stream to create pumping pressure).
Create motivation
Currently, in Anh Son, there are 23 farms that have been granted farm economic certificates according to Circular No. 27 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and 12 farms that meet farm economic criteria according to Circular 02/2020/TT-BNN dated February 28, 2020 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. However, there are still not many high-tech farm models that exploit the potential and advantages of the locality. Therefore, the district is actively developing a project to develop high-tech farms for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.

To achieve that goal, in the coming time, the district will strengthen propaganda work to Party committees and local authorities, especially to farmers, about the Party and State's policies on scientific and technological progress, about typical models of applying new technologies in production, about information, markets, production linkages, land accumulation for households to contribute land, participate in cooperatives to produce according to the farm economic model. Focus on the direction, management and operation of Party committees and local authorities to create favorable conditions for investors to develop high-tech farm economies.
In addition to providing practical support, to create conditions for the farm economy to develop commensurate with the potential and advantages of the locality, the district synchronously implements the issued policies, with the active and enthusiastic participation of authorities at all levels and related sectors so that farmers and farm owners can access the policies conveniently and effectively. At the same time, the district integrates programs and projects in the area to support the development of high-tech farm economy and considers supporting a fund for the development of high-tech farm with some contents such as: Application of new science and technology; trademark registration, trade promotion support; loan interest support; creating conditions for completing additional documents to the land use planning for households wishing to develop farm economy...
