Working as a welder, carrying around a lot of tools, welding machines, drills, and even corrugated iron, Kien has transformed his 110cc Suzuki motorbike into a car. Photo: Huu Vi |
To make the car, in early 2018, Mr. Kien started welding the frame, shot corrugated iron to make the car body and used a motorbike engine, and for the 4 wheels he bought from a Kia Morning car at a scrap yard. The car is not chain-driven but is transmitted by an axle. The front is made with 3 ventilation holes to cool the cockpit instead of "air conditioning" in hot weather. Besides, there are 4 front lights taken from old car lights.

For entertainment, Mr. Kien added a small speaker behind the driver's seat, music is taken from the phone and transmitted through the jack cable.
According to Nguyen Quang Kien, because the vehicle uses a motorbike engine, about 3 liters of gasoline can travel nearly 100km, with a speed of only about 40km/h. The vehicle is only used in the village and not on inter-commune roads or national highways. The total cost to complete the vehicle is about 25 million VND, which is equal to the cost of a new motorbike but can carry a lot of things and protect against the sun and rain.
