On the afternoon of April 18, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghi Loc District Police announced that the unit had just successfully broken up Project 418M, arrested 2 cases, 3 subjects illegally buying, selling, and storing drugs, seized 14 grams of crystal meth, 2.5 grams of heroin, 3 cell phones, and 2 motorbikes.

Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghi Loc District Police learned that some subjects in Yen Thanh District and Cua Lo Town were bringing drugs into Nghi Loc District and selling them to addicts in Nghi Van, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Hoa communes and Quan Hanh Town, so they established Project 418M to fight against them.
After the monitoring process, the investigation agency identified the main subjects of the project and organized surveillance of the subjects.
On April 10, reconnaissance teams in Yen Thanh district and Cua Lo town reported that subjects would bring drugs from these localities to Nghi Loc district, and Nghi Loc district police leaders decided to break up the case.

Accordingly, at 12 noon the same day, the working group of Project 418M conducted an interception at the foot of the railway overpass and National Highway 1A, in Block 9, Quan Hanh town.
Here, the working group arrested 2 subjects, including: Vo Viet Toan (born in 1988), residing in Hieu Hap block, Nghi Thu ward, Cua Lo town, temporarily residing in Nghi Khanh commune, Nghi Loc district and Hoang Khac Lam (born in 1988), residing in hamlet 2, Nghi Xa commune, Nghi Loc district. Inspection found on each subject a package of crystal meth, the total weight of the 2 packages was 14 grams along with 02 phones, 01 motorbike.

At the same time, working group No. 2 intercepted on National Highway 48E in hamlets 19 and 20, Nghi Van commune, arrested Nguyen Van Vinh (born in 1984), residing in hamlet 4, Cong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, who was on his way to transport drugs from this district to Nghi Loc district for sale. The seized evidence included 01 package of heroin weighing 2.5 grams, 01 phone and 01 motorbike.
On April 16 and 18, the Nghi Loc District Police Department initiated two cases and prosecuted Toan, Lam, and Vinh to investigate and clarify the acts of illegal drug trading and possession.
