(Baonghean.vn) - Doctors successfully removed a foreign object, a nearly 7cm long bamboo toothpick, from the stomach of patient Luu Thi T. (born in 1947, residing in Nghia Phuc commune, Tan Ky district - Nghe An).
On September 3, patient Luu Thi T in Tan Ky district successfully underwent surgery to remove a foreign object from her stomach. This patient had swallowed a nearly 7cm long bamboo toothpick into her stomach without even realizing it.
For the past 10 days, Mrs. T. has had sharp pain in her abdomen and nausea after eating. Because she has a history of gastritis, she thought the pain was due to a relapse. As the days passed, the pain continued to worsen, from dull to severe, forcing her family to take her to the District Health Center for examination.
