Steering Committee, Provincial Election Committee inspects the reality in Cua Lo town

The delegation inspected the actual election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in Nghi Huong ward, grasping the results of the implementation of contents related to April 12, 2021 in the area.

Pointing out some shortcomings and limitations in the process of implementing the election work in Nghi Huong ward, the Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee requested the ward election committee to review and overcome shortcomings, such as the need to complete the composition of election committees and election teams according to regulations, ensuring democracy; research to store complete, scientific, easy-to-retrieve records, review the declaration of records according to instructions; review the voter list...

In Nghi Huong ward, after the second consultation conference, the total number of delegates recommended by agencies, organizations and units to run for election was 38 people, the combined structure ensured the proportion of female candidates was 44.74%, young candidates 34.2%, non-Party candidates 10.5%. The Fatherland Front Committee and the ward People's Committee coordinated with the bloc front working committee to organize 5 sessions to collect voters' opinions on candidates for the town and ward People's Council delegates. However, the locality admitted that organizing conferences in the blocs encountered many difficulties, the number of voters attending the conferences was still low, although it still ensured the requirements according to Resolution 1186.

On the same morning, the inspection team of the Provincial Election Committee also worked with the Election Committee of Cua Lo town.

The report of the Election Committee of Cua Lo town said that after the second consultative conference, at the town level, the number of elected delegates was 30, the number of people recommended to make a preliminary list of candidates for the town People's Council was 56, the structure of female candidates reached 44.64%, young candidates reached 37.5%, non-Party candidates reached 10.71%, re-candidates reached 50%. The combined structure is higher than the regulation in Resolution 1187 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Currently, the town is urgently completing preparations to organize the 3rd Consultation Conference, scheduled to take place at the town level on the afternoon of April 15, and at the ward level on the afternoon of April 15 and 16, 2021.

The Town Election Committee and the wards and communes have determined and announced the number of constituencies, the list of constituencies and the number of People's Council delegates elected in each constituency on time according to the law.
