The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee issued a plan to implement economic diplomacy work.
(Baonghean.vn) - Economic diplomacy is a fundamental and central task of Vietnam's diplomacy in the current period, an important driving force for rapid and sustainable national development; playing a pioneering role in mobilizing external resources to build the economy.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee has just issued Plan No. 134-KH/TU to implement Directive No. 15-CT/TW dated August 10, 2022 of the Central Party Secretariat on economic diplomacy to serve national development by 2030.

The purpose is to raise awareness of Party committees, Party organizations, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in implementing Directive No. 15-CT/TW and the Party's viewpoints and policies, and the State's policies and laws on economic diplomacy to serve national development.
At the same time, the implementation of the tasks of Directive No. 15-CT/TW is oriented in accordance with the characteristics and actual situation of the province, aiming to improve the quality and effectiveness of comprehensive, substantive and effective economic diplomacy, contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of the province.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee has identified 7 groups of tasks and solutions for implementation. First of all, it is necessary to propagate, disseminate and thoroughly understand economic diplomacy work to serve national development.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee also requested to expand and deepen cooperative relations with foreign partners, especially neighboring countries, strategic partners, and comprehensive partners through continuing to consolidate and develop the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with the provinces of Laos in order to closely link foreign political relations with economic, defense, security, cultural, educational, scientific and technological cooperation...
Nghe An also needs to continue to maintain and deepen its relationship with sister provinces such as Gifu (Japan), Gyeonggi city (Korea), U-li-an-op (Russia), Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi province and Hunan province (China), provinces in the association of provinces of Vietnam - Laos - Thailand using Highway 8 and Highway 12 and international organizations in Vietnam to deepen the established relationship framework, creating intertwined interests between the province and its partners.
Make the most of foreign political relations to promote cooperation and economic links, thereby firmly consolidating relations with partners, enhancing the potential, position and prestige of Nghe An province with international friends. Research and sign bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements between Nghe An province and appropriate foreign partners, to promote economic cooperation, education and training, labor export, and science and technology transfer focusing on Northeast Asian and Southeast Asian countries...
Along with that is improving the quality and effectiveness of international economic integration through implementing and effectively utilizing new generation free trade agreements (FTAs) such as: CPTPP, EVFTA, UKFTA and trade agreements to which Vietnam is a member, in order to connect Nghe An to national and international supply chains, enhance the province's position in value chains and in the perception and evaluation of partners; proactively implementing common rules and regulations on international trade.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee emphasized the need to actively mobilize and selectively attract foreign investment cooperation. Prioritize and focus on attracting projects with quality, economic efficiency, environmental protection, sustainable development, and commitment to technology transfer and highly skilled labor; focus on attracting large investors using high, modern, and environmentally friendly technology; small and medium-sized investors suitable for each field and each locality... ensuring the competitiveness of products and export goods, while making a large contribution to the provincial budget.
Nghe An also determined to promote cooperation and mobilize the participation of foreign organizations in implementing research, application, technology transfer and development projects, and supporting innovative start-up projects in the province associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
In particular, the province determined that it is necessary to encourage and create conditions for overseas Vietnamese from Nghe An to return to the locality to participate in social activities, carry out investment and economic cooperation activities; continue to perfect the legal system, reform administrative procedures and synchronously implement policies related to overseas Vietnamese in general and overseas Nghe An people in particular to invest, produce and do business in the province.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee also emphasized building economic diplomacy to serve development, focusing on people and businesses; improving the capacity to forecast and advise on international economic strategies; promoting the role of Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy; and improving the capacity of cadres working in foreign affairs and economic diplomacy.
