Professional dog poison gang in Nghe An caught, initially confessed to 100 poisoning cases

On the afternoon of March 17, the Nghi Loc District Police Department announced that the unit had successfully broken up Project 0230C, arresting 6 subjects who stole dogs and sold stolen dogs.

Six subjects were arrested in Project 0230C, including: Nguyen Hoang Hai (born in 1986), Nguyen Quoc Dung (born in 1989), Vo Dinh Trong (born in 1986), Nguyen Trong Huy (born in 1963), Tran Van Muoi (born in 1990), all residing in Nghi Trung commune for stealing dogs, and Nguyen Thi Luyen (born in 1969), residing in Nghi Hoa commune, Nghi Loc district, for consuming stolen dogs.

The seized exhibits included 12 dogs of various types (including 2 butchered dogs stored in the freezer) with a total weight of 160 kg, 10 mobile phones, 3 homemade guns, 1 bag of dog bait, 4 motorbikes, 3 homemade swords, 1 freezer to store dogs after butchering, 3 scales, 3 bottles of suspected dog bait solution and some other related exhibits.

Previously, from the beginning of February 2020 until now, in many residential areas of Nghi Loc district and neighboring urban districts, there have been continuous cases of dogs and cats dying en masse due to being poisoned. According to people's reflection: subjects riding motorbikes in groups release dog poison and collect dead dogs and cats due to being poisoned into bags of snake carcasses to sell. If discovered and chased by people, the subjects are ready to use the weapons they carry to fight back fiercely to escape.

Faced with the people's confusion and anxiety, the leaders of Nghi Loc District Police established Project 0230C and assigned the Criminal - Economic - Drug Crime Investigation Police Team to preside over and coordinate with professional teams and the police of communes and towns to fight.

After a period of persistently studying the subjects' operating patterns, the Task Force divided into many secret teams at different locations and locations, setting up floating subjects in the area.

At 0:00 on March 16, at Thuong Tho hamlet, Nghi Hoa commune, the task force 0230C presided over, coordinated with the commune police, and caught red-handed two subjects: Nguyen Hoang Hai and Nguyen Quoc Dung in the act of selling dogs that had just been poisoned to Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen. Immediately after that, the task force coordinated with Nghi Trung commune police to simultaneously arrest other subjects in the dog poison ring.

Initially, the subjects confessed: From the beginning of February 2020 until now, the subjects caused more than 100 cases of dog theft in Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Do Luong districts, Vinh city and Cua Lo town.

Currently, Nghi Loc District Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case, arresting the remaining subjects.
