(Baonghean.vn) - "The press always accompanies the health sector" - that is the affirmation of the Director of the Department of Communications and Emulation and Rewards, Ministry of Health at the training conference on speaking and providing health information organized by Nghe An Department of Health on the morning of December 6.

Attending the conference were Master, Doctor Nguyen Dinh Anh - Department Head; Journalist Vu Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of Department of Communications and Emulation and Reward, Ministry of Health; representatives of leaders of the Department of Health and medical units in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Doctor Dau Huy Hoan - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health stated: In recent times, Nghe An health sector has achieved many outstanding achievements in many fields.

However, besides the successes, there are still unfortunate medical incidents. Medical incidents associated with media crises are a requirement for every medical staff, medical facility in particular and the medical sector in general. To do this, each medical facility needs to constantly improve professional qualifications, develop techniques to minimize incidents; in addition, there are information provision skills, and public opinion orientation skills.

Proactively providing information to the press on a regular and timely basis will certainly create consensus, support, sharing and participation of the whole society and each citizen in the activities of the health sector in performing the task of taking care of people's health.

Within the framework of the training conference, lecturers from the Department of Communications, Emulation and Rewards, Ministry of Health provided delegates with two main contents: Speaking and providing information to the press and Responding to the media in medical incidents.

Master, Doctor Nguyen Dinh Anh - Director of the Department of Communications and Emulation and Rewards, Ministry of Health affirmed: The press and mass media are not a threat to medical units but always accompany and have a mutual effect for the development of the medical sector. Coordinating and providing good information with press agencies will help minimize the negative impact of medical incidents, contributing to stabilizing public opinion, the psychology of patients and their families, and medical staff themselves.

During the training session, delegates clearly understood the role of the press and mass media in building and developing medical facilities; and how to respond appropriately to medical incidents and media crises that occur./.
