Violence from anti-Trump protests in New Mexico
Police used tear gas and smoke grenades to disperse anti-Trump protesters outside the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Protests outside the area where billionaire Donald Trump campaigned in New Mexico on the evening of May 24 (local time) turned violent when protesters burned shirts and plastic bottles, overturned trash cans and broke through police barricades.

According to APPolice used tear gas and smoke grenades to disperse crowds outside the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Inside the Convention Center, the Republican presidential candidate's campaign was also repeatedly interrupted when protesters against Mr. Trump shouted and held protest signs with the message "Trump is a militarist" and "we have heard enough."
Outside, protesters smashed glass doors at the entrance of the Albuquerque Convention Center. Clashes broke out between anti-Trump protesters and riot police. Protesters tried to break through police lines and burned T-shirts bearing Trump's slogan: "Make America Great Again."
