US newspaper: Without Washington's help, Ukraine cannot stop Russia from advancing towards Kiev

According to RIA Novosti news agency, expert Mark Thiessen, a speechwriter for former US President George W. Bush, in an article published in The Washington Post, said that without US support, the Ukrainian Armed Forces would not be able to stop the movement of Russian troops towards the capital Kiev.
“The moral of the story is this: Without US help, Russian forces would have started advancing toward Kiev,” said Thiessen.
According to Thiessen, without US help, Ukraine could suffer the fate of other countries that the US has tried to “save” throughout its history, such as Afghanistan.
Mr. Thiessen pointed out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will soon exhaust both their air defense systems and their last combat aircraft. That is why the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to stop the advance of Russian forces to the west of the country.
