Arrested 2 subjects for forging IT and foreign language certificates to sell to students
The police have prosecuted and temporarily detained Le Dang Khoa and Phan Van Duc on charges of "Forgery of documents of agencies and organizations".
On September 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Long Xuyen City Police (An Giang province) announced that it had just prosecuted and temporarily detained Le Dang Khoa (born in 1998, residing in Tan Hiep district, Kien Giang province) and Phan Van Duc (born in 1996, residing in Cho Moi district, An Giang province) for the crime of 'Forgery of documents of agencies and organizations'.

According to the police, on May 24, 2022, student NVHA (born in 1998, residing in Cho Moi district, An Giang province) went to An Giang University to submit his "Basic Information Technology Application Certificate" and "English Language Certificate" to receive his university diploma.
Through inspection, the school discovered that both certificates mentioned above had signs of being fake, so they checked the diplomas and certificates that the students had submitted. An Giang University discovered 3 more English language certificates and 1 university degree that had signs of being fake.
After the appraisal results were confirmed, the above certificates and university degrees were fake, the Long Xuyen City Police Department initiated a criminal case of "Forgery of seals and documents of agencies and organizations, use of fake seals or documents of agencies and organizations". Expanding the investigation, the police force continued to seize 46 foreign language and IT certificates with signs of forgery.
Le Dang Khoa was determined to have collected information from students who wanted to fake diplomas and certificates and then sent it to Phan Van Duc to ask a person of unknown origin to do the forgery.
