Caught 6,500 packs of smuggled cigarettes illegally transported
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 12, the Border Guard Station coordinated with the Nam Can International Border Gate Customs Branch (Ky Son) to hand over the exhibits and subjects in the case of transporting 6,500 packs of smuggled cigarettes, branded Gem, to the authorities for further investigation and handling.

Previously, at 9:30 a.m. on October 9, 2015, through inspection and control, the Border Guard Station and the Nam Can International Border Gate Customs Branch discovered a truck with license plate 37C-123.23 driven by Pham Xuan Huong, born in 1985 - Hometown of Hamlet 4, Cam Son (Anh Son, Nghe An) with suspicious signs.
During the vehicle inspection, the authorities discovered 6,500 packs of cigarettes (Gem brand) contained in 13 cardboard boxes, illegally transported from across the border to Vietnam. The driver could not present the required license, so both the driver and the goods were detained for investigation and handling according to regulations.
