“Unlike its American partners, China considers Russia a reliable supplier of any products. Previously, we were actively negotiating with our Chinese partners in agriculture and other areas to bring China into the Russian market. On the one hand, the Chinese economy will not feel very good, but in terms of relations, we will move forward,” Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said at an expanded meeting on the socio-economic development of the Altai Republic.

According to Mr. Oreshkin, a “renaissance” has begun in the relationship between Russia and China.

“The Chinese economy will not go through the best period, but we hope that there will be no negative impact on the relations between Russia and China. Our turnover is growing, $108 billion this year, there is a positive momentum this year,” the minister added.

According to the results of 2018, the trade turnover between Russia and China exceeded the historical level for the first time, reaching the target of 100 billion USD set by the leaders of the two countries. According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, the foreign trade turnover between Russia and China in 2018 amounted to 108.284 billion USD, an increase of 24.5%.
