Arrest of subject using mines to fish at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - Quynh Lap Border Guard Station (Hoang Mai town) in coordination with the fisheries control force has just discovered and arrested a case of illegal storage of explosives on a fishing boat.

On the morning of March 8, Quynh Lap Border Guard Station and the fisheries control force conducted patrols and controlled boats at Lach Con fishing port. When checking the fishing boat owned by Tran Dinh Chung (1975), residing in Rong hamlet, Quynh Lap commune, they discovered crew member Dau Dinh Gia throwing a black plastic bag into the sea.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that inside contained 0.8 kg of explosives, 4 detonators and 1 meter of wire. According to the suspect's statement, the explosives were used to catch fish when encountering large fish.

The authorities have drawn up a record of the violation and imposed an administrative fine of 12.5 million VND.
