Arrested subject using "hypnosis" trick to rob money in broad daylight

At the police station, Le Thi Thanh admitted to using so-called "hypnotic" techniques to steal money from Mrs. Tran Thi Chien on the morning of March 24.

After nearly 5 days of searching for the whereabouts of the "monster woman" who hypnotized and stole money in broad daylight from an elderly passerby on Le Thanh Ton Street, Hue City, Hue City Police announced that they had arrested the suspect, Le Thi Thu Thanh (39 years old, residing at 25/1, lane 13, An Duong Vuong, Hue City).

The "monster" confessed that on the morning of March 24, while driving on Le Thanh Ton street, she met Mr. Chien (79 years old, living at 20/24 Le Thanh Ton, Hue city).On the way back from exercise, Thanh told Mrs. Chien that he would like to invite her to breakfast, but Mrs. Chien replied that she had just finished eating. Hearing that, Thanh asked, "Do you still have money when you come back from breakfast?". Then, Thanh approached Mrs. Chien's money bag and used tricks to steal the money without the old woman knowing.

According to the police, Thanh has a previous conviction for gambling and a previous conviction for theft. Hue City Police determined that Thanh's actions showed signs of constituting the crime of theft. However, because she is raising a young child and her husband has passed away, Thanh is currently on bail.

Currently, the authorities are consolidating the case file to prosecute the subject according to the provisions of law.

Previously, on March 24, a video was circulated on Facebook, recorded by a household security camera, showing a "female monster" wearing a mask and riding a motorbike, using "hypnosis" to steal money from an old woman on the street, causing many people to panic. The victim was later identified as Ms. Chien.
