Arrest of fugitive wanted after stabbing injured person

On October 23, Dien Chau District Police (Nghe An) announced that they had arrested Nguyen Huy Loc (born in 1998), residing in Quyet Thanh hamlet, Dien Bich commune - a wanted fugitive in Dien Chau district.

Previously, at 10:00 p.m. on August 7, Loc, Nguyen Van Khai (born in 1995) and some friends went to sing karaoke at Braha karaoke bar (block 4, Dien Chau town).

During the singing, there was a conflict that led to a fight between Loc and Khai, but was stopped by friends. At 11:30 p.m., when everyone was leaving and waiting for the bus, Loc and Khai continued to argue.

Because he was drunk, Loc used a knife he had hidden on him to stab Khai once in the stomach and then ran away. Khai was promptly taken to the hospital for emergency treatment by local people.

After the incident, the district police began an investigation. On August 25, Dien Chau district police initiated a criminal case and prosecuted Nguyen Huy Loc (born in 1998), residing in Quyet Thanh hamlet, Dien Bich commune, for intentionally causing injury.

However, the subject quickly fled. On September 20, Dien Chau District Police issued a wanted notice for Nguyen Huy Loc for intentionally causing injury.

On October 20, through a source of information, it was learned that the subject was on a bus from Ho Chi Minh City returning to his hometown. When Loc got off the bus, he was arrested by detectives.

At the investigation agency, Loc confessed to his crime. Loc said that when he learned that the police had summoned him, he was so scared that he fled to the South to hide.
