Arrest of former Ben Cat Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Khanh

Colonel Tran Van Chinh – Deputy Director of Binh Duong Provincial Police confirmed this information to VietNamNet. Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh was prosecuted and temporarily detained for violating regulations on management and use of State assets.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh is the former Secretary of Ben Cat Town. Previously, he held the positions of Head of Finance Department of Ben Cat District People's Committee (old), Vice Chairman and Chairman of Ben Cat Town People's Committee.

In June 2016, Mr. Khanh was transferred to the Organizing Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee until now.

Police determined that Mr. Khanh's violations occurred during his tenure as Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Ben Cat town.

Mr. Khanh did not propose or advise the collective, the Standing Committee, or the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to discuss or decide on a number of important issues that Mr. Khanh personally decided on behalf of the collective.

The Inspection Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee also pointed out that Mr. Khanh proposed to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee a number of inappropriate issues, lacking consideration of timing, lacking direction, inspection, and supervision in personnel work; and interfering too deeply in government work.

It is expected that this afternoon, the Propaganda Department of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee will hold a meeting to provide information about the arrest of Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh to the press.
