Arrested 2 subjects, seized more than 500 kg of firecrackers

After a period of monitoring the illegal firecracker trading line from Lang Son province to Nghe An for consumption, at about 1:00 a.m. on May 23, 2019, in Quynh Ngoc commune, Quynh Luu district, the Special Task Force of the Economic Police Department (Nghe An Police) caught red-handed 2 subjects in the act of buying, selling and transporting firecrackers on a truck with license plate 29C-99.367.

The task force transferred the subjects to headquarters, seized 520 kg of firecrackers including firecrackers and fireworks, and temporarily detained the truck the subjects used to transport them.

At the investigation agency, the subjects confessed to being Hoang Van Hung (born in 1986, residing in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district) and Phan Van Yen (born in 1972, residing in Thanh Van commune, Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province).

In addition, Hung confessed that he was the one who found the source to buy fireworks for the Northern subjects, and Yen was the one who transported the above goods from Noi Bai airport to Vinh city for a fee of 12 million VND.

The case is currently under further investigation./.
