Ms. Nga is the daughter of martyr Phan Cong Uon (born in 1974) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Vy. Born into a large family, Ms. Nga suffered from a motor disability since childhood, her left leg was not developed, and she also suffered from heart and joint diseases. In 1989, feeling sorry for her difficult situation but with great determination, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hoi in Nghi Truong commune (Nghi Loc) - an orphan of both parents, 10 years younger than Ms. Nga, fell in love with her and the two became husband and wife.

At the end of 1989, everyone was happy when Ms. Nga gave birth to her first daughter, Nguyen Thi Hoa. But then, everyone was extremely sad when they learned that the child was born deaf and mute. Happiness exploded when in 1998, Mr. Hoi and Ms. Nga had another healthy son, Nguyen Nhu Thanh. Out of love for his mother and sister with disabilities, when growing up, in addition to going to school, Thanh also shared housework and farming with his father.

Ở tuổi 55, dù bị dị tật khó khăn trong đi lại, chị Nga vẫn phải vượt hàng nghìn km để vào chia sẻ khó khăn cùng người con gái và các cháu ngoại ở tỉnh Bình Dương.
At the age of 55, despite her disability that makes it difficult for her to move, Ms. Nga still has to travel thousands of kilometers to support her daughter and grandchildren in Binh Duong.

Although life was hard, the couple lived in harmony, and their neighbors loved and cared for them. The eldest daughter, Nguyen Thi Hoa, went to a deaf-mute school, met a person in the same situation, and with the help of both families, she got married in 2010 and has two children.

It seemed that life would become less difficult, but from 2014 until now, many disasters have befallen her family. In the summer of 2014, Nguyen Nhu Thanh went to catch crabs and snails and accidentally slipped into a deep puddle and drowned. Less than a year later, while she was at home, she heard the bad news from the villagers: Nguyen Nhu Hoi was found dead on the Vinh bypass, and the cause of the accident was unknown.

In early 2016, Ms. Nga received another bad news when Ms. Nguyen Nhu Hoa's two children, one with burns all over his body, the other with intestinal stenosis, had to undergo emergency surgery at Children's Hospital 2 (Ho Chi Minh City) right after birth. Both children are currently being treated at the hospital. Pitying her daughter and her husband who are both deaf and mute, Ms. Nga had to mortgage her land title to borrow money from the bank to send to her children and travel thousands of kilometers to be a support for her children and grandchildren.

Although her family is poor and has no income, Ms. Nga still has to take on the responsibility of being the breadwinner of the family. The amount of money borrowed after the hardships has increased day by day, and now it has increased even more with so many expenses that depend on her.
