63-year-old woman detained for 'overthrowing the people's government'
Authorities have temporarily detained Nguyen Ngoc Chau and seized more than 3,000 leaflets with provocative content that disrupted security and order.
On September 22, the Kien Giang Provincial Police Security Investigation Agency announced that it had initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and executed an order to temporarily detain Nguyen Ngoc Chau (63 years old, residing in An Binh ward, Rach Gia city) for the crime of "Activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government".

Ms. Chau confessed that she used Facebook to contact and communicate with some members of the terrorist organization called “Provisional National Government of Vietnam” led by Dao Minh Quan to receive instructions on joining. Her task was to distribute leaflets during holidays.
During an emergency search of Chau's residence, police seized more than 3,000 leaflets containing provocative content that disrupted security and order under the direction of the above terrorist organization.

In addition, the authorities also seized many equipment and means used to draft and print leaflets (computers, color printers, fax machines, etc.), rectangular pieces of yellow cloth with three red stripes and other evidence related to Chau's illegal activities.
The incident is being investigated and clarified.
