Took a taxi from Vinh to Tan Ky to buy drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - Addicted, a man born in 1981 hired a taxi from Vinh city to Tan Ky district to buy drugs but was discovered and caught red-handed by the authorities.
On the morning of March 4, Tan Ky District People's Court tried the criminal case against Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, born in 1981, residing in Hamlet 5, Nghia Dong Commune, Tan Ky District, for the crime ofIllegal possession of drugs.
At around 10:00 a.m. on December 20, 2020, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh was at Nghe An General Hospital 115 in Vinh City when he had a drug addiction attack, so he walked to a nearby phone store to buy a SIM card, put it in his phone, and contacted a friend to ask if this person knew anyone selling drugs. Through discussion, the friend gave Khanh the phone number of a woman named "Hao".

Afterwards, Nguyen Ngoc Khanh called Ms. Hao and the two arranged to meet in the area behind the wild boar farm in Hamlet 6, Nghia Binh Commune, Tan Ky District to discuss drug trading.
After making the contact, Khanh went to the front gate of Nghe An General Hospital 115 and caught a red taxi to take him back to Tan Ky district. At about 11:45 a.m. the same day, when he was near the pre-arranged location to buy drugs, Khanh got out of the car and told the taxi driver to wait for him outside. Khanh walked inside about 600 meters from where the taxi stopped and met a woman named Hao standing on the side of the road.
Khanh approached, took out a 500,000 VND bill from his person and gave it to the woman named Hao. This woman took out a silver foil package from her right jacket pocket, containing white powder, and gave it back to Khanh.
At around 12:00 p.m. the same day, when Nguyen Ngoc Khanh was walking to the intersection of the inter-hamlet road in Hamlet 6, Nghia Binh Commune, he was checked by the working group of Tan Ky District Police, discovered and confiscated a package of silver foil containing white powder (suspected to be drugs). The working group made a record, sealed all evidence, and took Khanh and the evidence to the Tan Ky District Police headquarters for investigation.
In the Conclusion of the appraisal No. 48/KL-PC09 (D2 - MT) dated December 23, 2020 of the Criminal Technical Department of Nghe An Police, it was concluded that the sample of white powder seized from Nguyen Ngoc Khanh sent for appraisal was a drug (Heroin), with a mass of 0.125g.
It is worth mentioning that previously, on April 12, 2017, Khanh was sentenced by Tan Ky District People's Court to 15 months in prison for illegal possession of drugs, and now he continues to reoffend.
After reviewing the case comprehensively, at the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Nguyen Ngoc Khanh to 18 months in prison.
