Young man arrested for selling homemade guns to many people
The police have just initiated a case, prosecuted the defendant and issued an arrest warrant for Lam Van Nam for the crime of "Illegally manufacturing and trading in military weapons".
According to the initial investigation, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 16, the Working Group of Thai Nguyen City Police was patrolling and controlling security and order in area 14 (Tuc Duyen ward) when they discovered and confiscated two plastic bags containing many guns and bullets in a man's car.

Specifically, the police seized 3 rubber bullet-firing roller guns, 1 homemade gun that shot sports bullets shaped like a flashlight, 1 homemade gun that shot shotgun bullets and 8 shotgun bullets.
Working with the police, this man said he worked as a motorbike taxi driver, was hired by a man named Nam to deliver goods to a young man in Tuc Duyen ward and collect 11 million VND. Through the investigation, the police determined that the above guns and ammunition belonged to Lam Van Nam (born in 1991, residing in Xuan Quang hamlet, Quang Son commune, Dong Hy district).
On July 26, Lam Van Nam proactively went to the Thai Nguyen City Police Investigation Agency to surrender. Here, Nam confessed that at the end of 2022, he went online and joined the group "Cheap Self-Defense Gear", then bought a number of guns to resell to customers at a price difference to make a profit.
The guns Nam bought were all defective and therefore cheap. After that, Nam brought them to a mechanical workshop in group 13, Phu Xa ward (Thai Nguyen city) and asked a worker there to mill and cut some details and components (such as the trigger, hammer, barrel, which are parts to assemble the gun) and then put them up for sale.
Using this trick, recently, Nam has sold dozens of homemade guns of various types to many customers in several provinces and cities.
