According to the patient's relatives, the dog that attacked child D had been raised by the family for many years to guard the house. The dog was a newborn and was aggressive, so child D was teasing it and was bitten by the dog, causing many serious injuries.
At the time of the incident, dogs are on the loose(no chain, no muzzle).
The child was quickly treated by doctors of the Department of Orthopedics and Burns, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, who administered intravenous fluids, used antibiotics to prevent infection, pain relief, bandaged the wound, and had an emergency consultation to suture the wound, and advised on tetanus and rabies vaccinations.
In the past, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has received many cases of dog bites, some cases only had minor scratches but there were also serious cases that required stitches like the case of child D.
Most cases of dog bites are often due to subjectivity from both the dog owner and the child. Through this, doctors also recommend that parents should limit children's contact with pet dogs and strange dogs.
Families with children should not raise large and fierce dogs; when raising dogs, they must be fully vaccinated, domesticated, chained, and muzzled... If a dog bites a child, people need to clean the wound and then take them to the nearest medical center./.
