Proposal to name Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue
Mr. Tran Ngoc Son, a delegate of Nghe An Provincial People's Council, proposed naming Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard after Vo Nguyen Giap Street.
The opinion was raised at the question and answer session at the 25th Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, which took place on the morning of December 6.

Delegate Tran Ngoc Son - Chief Justice of Nghe An Provincial People's Court said that the name Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard includes the place name to and from. Therefore, the delegate of Tan Ky District Delegate Group proposed that the Department of Culture and Sports advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to issue a resolution to name Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard after General Vo Nguyen Giap.
Responding to the delegates, Director of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi My Hanh said: Currently, the street name General Vo Nguyen Giap is in the "bank" of street names of the Department. In the coming time, after officially announcing the merger of Cua Lo into Vinh city, the Department will advise the province to name a street Vo Nguyen Giap in a part of Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard.

Resolution No. 1243/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Nghe An province for the period 2023 - 2025, effective from December 1, 2024, resolves to merge the entire natural area and population of Cua Lo town and the communes of Nghi Xuan, Phuc Tho, Nghi Thai, Nghi Phong of Nghi Loc district into Vinh city.
Nghe An province has "finalized" that before December 25, 2024, it will complete the organization of the announcement of the establishment of new district and commune-level administrative units andKey personnel introductionof organizations in the political system.

Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard was approved for investment in Nghe An province in 2010. This is the most modern major traffic route in Nghe An province with a length of 10.8 km, passing through the following areas: Vinh city, Nghi Loc district and Cua Lo town.
After 4 years, due to capital adjustment, the project was adjusted and divided into 2 phases. The main road has 8 lanes for motor vehicles, each side has 4 lanes 16m wide; the median strip is 21m - 26m wide; the median strip between the main road and the service road is 3m wide on each side and the sidewalks on both sides are 9m wide on each side.
Phase I has a total investment of 1,400 billion VND, implementation period from 2017 - 2021, starting point Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard has an intersection with Le Nin Boulevard, the end point intersects with Binh Minh road, Cua Lo town. Phase 1 completed the opening of 2 mixed lanes, each lane is 9m wide.
Phase II has a total investment of VND 1,415 billion. This phase will start construction in mid-2022 with Nghe An Department of Transport as the investor. After completing both phases, Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard will have 2-way roads with 12 lanes, including 2 mixed lanes along each side of the route.
Thus, Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard is the main traffic route of Vinh city (new) after expansion, opening up development spaces, aiming to exploit the potential of coastal urban areas.
