Man in critical condition after being cut in the throat by a piece of glass

(Baonghean.vn) - News from Nghe An General Hospital said that at 9:00 a.m. on October 7, the hospital received emergency treatment for a 24-year-old male patient transferred from the district hospital, admitted in critical condition due to a sharp object cutting into his neck.

The patient's name is Nguyen Van T. (24 years old, residing in Long Son commune, Anh Son district). The patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of agitation, struggling, having difficulty breathing, and pain with a wound on his face, especially a deep cut right at the neck extending 10cm, causing a cut through the throat, quickly falling into a critical state, losing a lot of blood, and pale skin and mucous membranes.

Doctors are focusing on treating patients.

Immediately, the patient was treated by doctors at Nghe An General Hospital, endotracheal tube was placed, continuous balloon compression was performed, respiratory function was maintained, and emergency surgery was performed.

After surgery, the patient was diagnosed with a complete tracheal rupture. Currently, the patient is receiving intensive post-operative care, with a very poor prognosis, due to the presence of blood in the lungs, which can easily lead to rapid progression to pneumonia.

Through medical history, the patient's father said that at 6am this morning, while driving a tractor to work in the field, patient T. accidentally stepped on the gas pedal, causing the tractor to plunge into a nearby ditch. The front glass cover of the tractor shattered and turned into a sharp object, cutting the victim's neck, causing serious injury.
