Quynh Luu District Youth Union Secretary re-elected for new term

(Baonghean.vn) - Comrade Nguyen Van Truong was re-elected as Secretary of the Quynh Luu District Youth Union for the 2017-2022 term.

On July 6, Quynh Luu District Youth Union organized the 26th Congress of delegates, term 2017 - 2022. Attending were comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union and comrades who are leaders, heads of departments, branches, and unions at the district level, along with 174 delegates who are exemplary cadres and union members representing more than 12,000 union members in the whole district.

During the past term, the youth of Quynh Luu district promoted the spirit of initiative and creative labor, undertaking 154 youth projects and works worth nearly 900 million VND.

In the youth movement, volunteering for community life, the Youth Union donated 7,000 pairs of banh chung, 1,000 sets of clothes, 600 warm blankets, and hundreds of millions of dong.

In addition, the District Youth Union coordinated with the Young Doctors Club of the District General Hospital to examine, provide health consultation and provide free medicine to parishioners in difficult circumstances in the district; organized 7 rounds of medicine distribution for more than 3,000 policy families.

During the term, Quynh Luu District Youth Union has successfully organized the "Red Blood Drop" festival program and mobilized 6,000 youth union members to participate, collecting 3,800 units of blood.

Besides, thanks to timely attention to capital and science and technology, there have been dozens of typical models of youth in fields such as animal husbandry, cultivation, business... with income from 200 - 300 million VND/year.

Quynh Luu District Youth Union has disbursed 285 million VND in youth fund to support 15 projects such as dairy farming, farm farming, household carpentry... to help young people get rich legitimately in their hometown.

At the congress, the Party Committee of Quynh Luu district presented a banner to the youth of Quynh Luu district with the words "Solidarity - Creativity - Aggressiveness - Volunteerism"; Nghe An Provincial Youth Union also presented an Emulation Flag to the outstanding unit in the work of the Youth Union and the children's movement in the term 2012 - 2017.

With the spirit of democratic centralism and frankness, the congress elected 28 comrades to the Executive Committee of the District Youth Union, term XXVI, 2017-2022. Among them, comrade Nguyen Van Truong was re-elected as Secretary of the District Youth Union.

The Congress also elected 12 official delegates to attend the Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province, term 2017-2022, taking place in the near future.

On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union also presented certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in Youth Union work and youth movements during the past term./.
