Vinh City Party Secretary congratulates Vietnamese Teachers' Day

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, on the morning of November 18, Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee visited and congratulated a number of schools in the area.

Also attending were representatives of the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Education and Training.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh informed the Board of Directors of the Provincial Military School about some aspects of the political situation and socio-economic development of Nghe An.

The delegation visited Nghe An Military School and listened to a report on the school's achievements in recent times. In 2016, the school mainly trained and fostered national defense knowledge, specifically 4 training classes and 14 fostering classes on national defense knowledge for about 1,000 department heads and deputy heads, supporting the creation of quality cadres for localities. The school always adheres to the set goals and well implements the educational motto of "basic, systematic, unified, and specialized".

Vinh City Party Secretary presented a flower basket from the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to congratulate the school on November 20.

The City Party Secretary was pleased with the achievements that the Board of Directors and students have strived to achieve in the past time.

He emphasized the role and responsibility of the school in the current context, hoping that the school will continue to strive to promote its tradition, ensure good performance of local defense and military tasks, so that Nghe An is worthy of being the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, developing to meet the expectations of the Politburo and the Government.

The delegation also came to celebrate with the staff of Nghe An Pedagogical College.

On the same morning, the delegation also visited and congratulated Nghe An Pedagogical College on Vietnamese Teachers' Day. With more than 250 staff, including 2 associate professors, many doctors and masters, including 21 faculties and affiliated units, and adequate facilities, the school is considered to have a strong force to perform well the educational and training tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee.

However, this school year, the school encountered difficulties in enrollment (only reaching more than 50% of the target), enrollment between majors was also unbalanced, leading to many other challenges.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh praised the efforts and struggles of the school's Board of Directors and lecturers.

Talking with the school's Board of Directors, Vinh City Party Secretary praised the school's efforts and struggles over the past time - the cradle of training dedicated and professionally skilled teachers for society.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh also pointed out that in the coming time, Nghe An Pedagogical College needs to make efforts and research to propose to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to support the continued construction and promotion of Vinh's pedagogical brand, focusing on training human resources, creating a consensus to successfully complete the plans and goals set out.
