Provincial Party Secretary raised 3 groups of issues that need investors and experts to advise

… In recent years, Nghe An province has always received support and companionship from central agencies, especially the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. On behalf of Nghe An province, I would like to sincerely thank the organizations and individuals who have supported the province in the past time!

After many years of striving to develop the economy and society, in 2017, Nghe An province achieved many comprehensive and remarkable results in all fields. 27/27 socio-economic targets were achieved and exceeded. The growth rate in 2017 reached 8.25%, higher than the growth rate in recent years. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry - construction and services, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture.

Regarding business development, in 2017, the province granted new business registration certificates to 1,777 enterprises, an increase of 14.1% compared to 2016; total registered capital was 9,920.87 billion VND, an increase of 35.86% over the same period; especially, 398 enterprises returned to operation.

There have been quite positive changes in the field of investment attraction. In 2017, the province organized many working delegations to work and promote investment at many large and branded enterprises and economic groups that have been researching and investing in Nghe An such as: VSIP Group, Hemaraj, Vingroup, FLC, BRG, Masan, The Vissai, TH Group, T&T...; is completing investment procedures for a number of projects with large scale and potential to contribute to the budget with a total registered capital of more than 41,000 billion VND. These projects will be granted Investment Registration Certificates and sign investment commitments at the Mau Tuat Spring Investors Meeting tomorrow (March 10).

The above results partly evaluate the efforts in improving the investment and business environment, encouraging investment and developing enterprises that Nghe An province has made in recent times.

However, besides the achieved results, we all see that there are still many limitations, difficulties and challenges that require the efforts and creativity of the entire political system, all levels of government, and investors to turn difficulties and challenges into opportunities for rapid and sustainable development, to realize the goals and targets set by Resolution No. 26/NQ-TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province by 2020.

Nghe An province coordinated to organize the Workshop "Support and attract investment in Nghe An" to continue to review and evaluate the results, effectiveness and existence of investment activities that have been taking place in the province in the recent past, continue to provide development orientations in the coming time, meeting higher development requirements in the context of international, regional and domestic as well as in the province with many new factors.

Based on the topics of the experts, we hope that the delegates will focus on exchanging and discussing the following contents:

One is,Find solutions to handle current bottlenecks in attracting investment in Nghe An such as: Investment procedures, access to land, capital, infrastructure development, transportation services, transparency in investment activities...

Second,Discuss and handle specific difficulties and problems of each investor to quickly resolve issues to ensure compliance with regulations and the interests of both parties, with the goal of the province accompanying investors to speed up project implementation progress.

Third,Nghe An province hopes that experts, investors and delegates will discuss and make development-oriented recommendations so that Nghe An province can focus on improving the investment and business environment, administrative reform, enhancing investment efficiency and sustainable development in the coming time.

For the success of the conference, we hope to receive frank and enthusiastic comments from scientists, investors and businesses, to grasp the requirements and needs of businesses and investors, the contents that the province has not met, the issues that have not been thoroughly addressed, the issues that need to be overcome, adjusted and revised in the coming time so that the investment environment of Nghe An province becomes increasingly better.

With the motto "Government accompanies enterprises, the success of enterprises is also the success of the province" and the goal of building Nghe An as an attractive destination for investors, we hope that investors and enterprises will pay attention to and learn about the environment and investment policies of the province to seek opportunities for cooperation and investment in Nghe An. Investment associated with sustainable development will be a prominent step forward for Nghe An province in the near future.
