Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy attends the military handover ceremony in Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 28, Vinh city (Nghe An) held the 2021 military enlistment ceremony. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Major General Ha Tan Tien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4.
Also attending were: Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council.

In 2021, Vinh city was assigned the target of calling 148 citizens to join the army (136 Army, 12 Police). After the selection process, the number of soldiers was finalized and 144 citizens were called to join the People's Army, of which 137 citizens were officially called (136 men and 1 woman), and 7 citizens were reserved.
Among the citizens called to join the Army, there are 26 citizens with university, college, and intermediate degrees, 1 party member, and 5 citizens with religious beliefs. In particular, 15 citizens voluntarily applied to join the Army. In addition, 12 citizens performed the duty of the People's Public Security.

Wards and communes in the city all have gifts of 1 - 2 million VND for each citizen joining the army. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh city gave 30 citizens joining the army with difficult conditions and circumstances, each gift worth 1 million VND.
Speaking at the military handover ceremony, comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, believed that as revolutionary soldiers, in the new environment, the enlisted citizens will uphold tradition, strictly abide by discipline, strive, train, and complete all assigned tasks well, worthy of the spirit, courage, and expectations of the cadres, people, hometown, family, and relatives at home.

On behalf of the citizens joining the army, citizen Phan Cong Son in Trung Do ward shared the honor and pride of being in the ranks of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and Vietnam People's Public Security; at the same time, he pledged to unite, promote the tradition of generations of fathers and brothers, the tradition of his hometown Vinh city - the heroic red city, strive to study, train, strictly abide by the law and discipline; cultivate moral qualities to become a good soldier, an excellent soldier.

In 2021, Nghe An province was assigned by the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security to call 3,350 citizens to join the army, of which 3,104 citizens joined the Army and 246 citizens joined the People's Public Security service.
Accordingly, this year Nghe An finalized the number of soldiers and issued a call-up order for 3,505 citizens, of which 3,259 citizens joined the Army (officially 3,104 citizens, reserve 155 citizens) and 246 citizens joined the People's Public Security service. Among the citizens joining the army, there were 7 party members and 752 citizens who volunteered to join the army.

In particular, in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, before handing over the soldiers, the Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Department of Health to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct and guide districts, cities and towns to re-examine the health and collect samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing for 100% of citizens who were issued military service orders.
