Provincial Party Secretary asks Quynh Luu district to thoroughly handle lottery and gambling

(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the feedback from voters of Quynh Nghia commune, Quynh Luu district about lottery and gambling, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh requested the district leaders to have a special topic to handle it thoroughly, not letting the above problems recur.

On the morning of September 28, National Assembly deputies including comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and Director of the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department Hoang Thi Thu Trang met with voters of the communes of Quynh Bang, Quynh Nghia, Quynh Luong, Quynh Tho, Son Hai, An Hoa, Tien Thuy, Quynh Thuan, Quynh Long, Quynh Ngoc in Quynh Nghia commune, Quynh Luu district before the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly.

Meeting with National Assembly deputies, voters Tran Xuan Co, Son Hai commune as well as many voters of coastal communes, they proposed that the State continue to dredge and upgrade Lach Thoi and Lach Quen to meet the anchoring needs of local fishermen's boats in order to develop sustainable fisheries. Because Quynh Luu district currently has nearly 2,000 fishing boats, but these canals do not meet the requirements, fishermen have difficulty in anchoring.

Many voters also expressed concerns about the sea dike system, especially due to the impact of the recent storm No. 10; therefore, voters suggested solutions to upgrade and improve the sea dike system to ensure safety for local residential areas.

Voters also sent many opinions to National Assembly deputies on corruption prevention and control, accordingly, it is necessary to amend and supplement the law so that the level of legal punishment is strong enough to deter.

“Fighting corruption must be done seriously, from top to bottom.” - voter Tran Ba ​​Khoa of Quynh Thuan commune expressed and proposed not to let the situation of officials discovering corruption after retirement, but to detect and handle it while in office and in power.

At the conference, voters also proposed many issues related to policies for localities that have reached the new rural finish line to complete the criteria in a sustainable manner; policies to avoid outstanding debts in new rural construction, resolving policies for meritorious people, policies for village and hamlet cadres, etc.

Regarding investment projects such as dredging Quen and Thoi canals, and some roads as proposed by voters, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh said that in general, projects included in the approved 5-year medium-term plan have investment capital and investment commitments to ensure quality and progress.

Regarding the issue of upgrading the sea dike, the Provincial Party Secretary said that he had reported it to the Prime Minister. And the Prime Minister is studying and considering a plan for upgrading.

Regarding the issue of new rural construction, Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also said that the province has agreed to support communes that have reached the finish line to motivate communes to strive to reach the finish line.

Regarding voters' opinions on corruption prevention and control, the head of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the Party and State are very determined in this work and will strictly handle the right people and the right crimes, regardless of whether the corrupt subjects are in office or retired.

A very hot issue reflected by voters is the rampant situation of lottery and gambling. Faced with this situation, voter Truong Thi Huong, Hoa Binh village, Quynh Nghia commune, asked whether there was a protection racket or not? And suggested that the authorities should establish a special project to fight and destroy these places.

Regarding this issue, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh assigned Quynh Luu District Police Chief Ta Dinh Tuan to respond to voters' petitions. Accordingly, the District Police recently established a special case to arrest a lottery and football betting case in Hoa Binh village, Quynh Nghia commune with 6 subjects.

"Currently, the authorities have initiated a prosecution and are continuing to expand the investigation," said Lieutenant Colonel Tuan, affirming that in the coming time, they will continue to fight and handle the case resolutely and effectively.

The Provincial Party Secretary asked the District Party Secretary and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District to review the political system at the grassroots level. "The political system is complete. Why did the secretary, chairman, and commune police let this situation happen?" - Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh asked.

From there, the Provincial Party Secretary requested Quynh Luu district to have a special topic to handle it thoroughly, not letting the above problems recur.

Previously, representatives of the leaders of the sectors: Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Natural Resources - Environment, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs... responded to the petitions of voters related to their areas of responsibility.
