Caught carrying guns and ammunition from Hanoi to Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Three subjects took a taxi from Hanoi carrying military guns, bullets, iron balls and some supporting tools to Nghe An to wait for delivery when they were arrested by the authorities.
At 02:30 on June 24, 2020, in front of Vinh University Market Gate, Block 11, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City, Ben Thuy Ward Police coordinated with Mobile Police to inspect a taxi parked on Nguyen Van Troi Street with many suspicious signs.
Through inspection, the working group discovered and caught red-handed Nguyen Van Hao (born in 1992), Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1989), both residing in Dinh Bang ward, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province, and Bui Van Cong (born in 1993), residing in Nam Hung ward, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh, for illegally storing military weapons.
Police seized 2 military guns, 18 bullets, 480 iron balls, 3 CO gas sprayers.2, 1 pepper spray and 17 million VND in cash.

At the police station, the three young men confessed: On June 21, 2020, Nguyen Van Hao received a request to transport 2 military guns to Nghe An to deliver to a man for a fee of 6 million VND. Hao agreed and went to Giap Bat bus station to receive the 2 guns as requested.
Hao invited his friend Bui Van Cong and his brother Nguyen Van Hung to go with him to Nghe An to deliver the guns. At around 7:00 p.m. on June 23, 2020, Hung drove a taxi to pick up Hao and Cong from Tu Son town, Bac Ninh to Nghe An.
At 2:00 a.m. on June 24, 2020, Hao's car went to Nguyen Van Troi Street, Vinh City and parked on the sidewalk in front of Vinh University Market. Here, Hao took a military gun and put it on the floor of the taxi, in front of the passenger seat. Hao continued to open the trunk, took out the remaining gun and bullets, and put them under a tree next to the back of the taxi. While the 3 subjects were waiting for customers to pick up the "goods", they were discovered and arrested by Ben Thuy Ward Police.

The case has been transferred by Ben Thuy Ward Police to Vinh City Police for investigation according to their authority.
