- The 37-storey tubular tower is a symbol of a lighthouse, representing the far-reaching stature of the coastal city of Da Nang. The design competition for this great project was widely held, with many domestic and foreign architects participating, and finally the Korean design was chosen. The project, which cost more than 2,000 billion VND, was inaugurated less than 2 years ago and was already unusable.

- Why can't it be used?

- In terms of architectural art, this is a work with a unique idea, but when put into use, we realized that its function is not suitable. More than 1,600 cadres, civil servants, and public employees work in a closed tube-shaped building with many layers of glass, so it is very hot and lacks oxygen. People who come to see the government are dizzy because they cannot find their workplace, many people do not even know how to press the elevator button. The center causes traffic jams because there are too many vehicles coming in and out.

- In your opinion, when it is no longer an administrative center, what should this building be used for?

- I find it difficult to use for anything. As a production site, there is no factory, as a shopping mall, there is no place to sell, as an entertainment center, there is not enough space, as an office, it is too big for any agency to use. If it is rented for services, no one would be foolish enough to enter this giant vertical tube house.

- Can a modern project with an investment of more than 2,000 billion VND be left empty?

- There is still a way to use it, sir.

- What way?

- Continue making icons.

- What symbol?

- Not a symbol of a lighthouse reaching out to the ocean but a symbol of waste.
