High school graduation exam 2025 in the last 2 days of June
As of 5:00 p.m. on April 28, the closing date for registration for the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training said that a total of 1,165,289 candidates had registered to take the exam, an increase of nearly 94,000 compared to 2024.
Of these, 1,122,507 candidates are grade 12 students under the 2018 General Education program (accounting for more than 96%), the rest are independent candidates.
This year’s exam will take place on June 26 and 27. Notably, 2025 is the first year that students studying under the new program will only take 4 subjects: 2 compulsory subjects, Literature and Mathematics, along with 2 elective subjects from the list of subjects studied in grade 12 (including Foreign Languages, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology and Technology).
In particular, the Literature subject is tested in essay format with a test time of 120 minutes, including two parts: Reading comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points). The remaining subjects are multiple choice tests, with a test time of 90 minutes for Math and 50 minutes for other subjects.
