Nam Giai commune is a particularly difficult area of Que Phong district, with 100% of the population being ethnic minorities. The poverty rate of the commune is still very high, accounting for 40.46% of the total households in the commune. In order to create conditions for people to develop the economy in a sustainable manner, in recent years, the Provincial Military Command has supported the locality in building a number of welfare projects, transferring livestock breeding techniques, and breeding plants and animals for high economic efficiency.
