The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a notice to Vietnamese citizens studying and researching abroad (international students) about complying with regulations on Covid-19 prevention.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that international students abroad need to follow the recommendations and instructions, strictly comply with the Covid-19 prevention rules of the competent authorities of the host country and closely follow the recommendations of the Vietnamese Embassy abroad.

The overseas student community needs to stay calm, unite, support each other, and share information on how to prevent the epidemic. Avoid propaganda or spreading unverified information, stay at home and do not go to public places unless absolutely necessary.

In addition, closely monitor the study plans of educational institutions in the host country to ensure the study program. International students also need to pay attention to procedures related to re-admission and the difficulties and risks in the process of traveling if returning to Vietnam. Furthermore, international students need to carefully consider returning to Vietnam in the current difficult travel context.

In case it is absolutely necessary to return to Vietnam, international students must honestly fulfill the medical declaration requirements and quarantine according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health and the competent authorities of Vietnam. If there are signs of illness, fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, international students must proactively quarantine themselves and immediately contact the nearest medical facility for timely consultation, examination, and treatment.
