“The consequences of traffic accidents are always long-lasting and unpredictable, causing serious damage to society. In addition, the victims' families and the national budget have to bear an additional burden of thousands of billions of dong to overcome the consequences of traffic accidents every year. The memorial service is an opportunity to remind ourselves, our relatives, friends, and community members to do everything possible to make traffic increasingly civilized and safe. Each person should live consciously and responsibly towards themselves, their families, and society,” Minister Dinh La Thang emphasized.

About 8,000 people, monks, nuns, and Buddhists attended the memorial service for traffic accident victims.

Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said that life and death are the natural reasons for a finite human life in this world. In just a moment of impermanence, a moment of carelessness can lead to death, loss, pain, and grief. The number of traffic accidents and deaths is an urgent warning that all of us in society need to be responsible for finding solutions, making efforts to propagate and promote more strongly into a movement of respecting the law, strictly obeying traffic laws, in order to minimize traffic accidents in the coming time.

It is known that the memorial service for traffic accident victims will last for 3 days, from November 8 to 10./.
