"Currently, the Criminal Police Department is coordinating with the bank to review and identify the accounts that have raised charity funds to clarify the receipt, contribution, and disbursement process; coordinating with the People's Committees and the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai provinces... to verify and clarify the amount of money and goods that artists have provided in relief in the localities. In addition, relevant individuals and organizations have been invited to work and provide relevant information to soon conclude the case in accordance with the law," said Minister To Lam.
The Minister also informed that the Criminal Police Department has directed the Criminal Police force nationwide to review and grasp the situation of charitable activities taking place in the area, promptly detecting organizations and individuals taking advantage of charitable activities for profit and appropriating property.
Through screening in localities, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has received 6 criminal reports from citizens related to the embezzlement of charity money from artists. Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has received and classified 6 reports in accordance with the procedures of criminal procedure law. "All work is being carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law" - Minister To Lam affirmed.
