Quynh Luu football determined to affirm tradition

In the history of the Youth Football Tournament - Nghe An Newspaper Cup, Quynh Luu's football teams have always been highly regarded and have won many championships. This is considered the cradle of football, producing famous players of Vietnam's football such as goalkeeper Duong Hong Son, "legend" Le Cong Vinh or later Hoang Van Binh, Ho Phuc Tinh, Vo Ngoc Toan, Vo Ngoc Duc...

Quynh Luu is probably the only locality that has maintained the District-level Youth Football Tournament for the past 22 years. Since then, coaches of the Quynh Luu Children's and Youth teams have always had many options to participate in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth-Children's Football Tournament.

In 2018, the Quynh Luu team was highly rated and entered the semi-finals after easily defeating Nam Dan with a score of 3-0.

Unfortunately for the Quynh Luu young players, they lost to the champion team Yen Thanh in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the Quynh Luu Youth team proved their strength, defeating a series of tough opponents to reach the final match against TN Yen Thanh. Coach Ho Quoc Huy and his team only lost by 1 goal and could not successfully defend the championship for the second time.

Although they are no longer in the top position, this year, the two teams of Quynh Luu Youth and Youth still prepare for the tournament very urgently. In early May, although the young players are still busy with studying and taking exams, the few remaining players are still practicing enthusiastically. Up to this point, the Quynh Luu Youth team is about to complete the selection of its players and enter the technical and tactical training phase.

Coach Ho Quoc Huy of the Quynh Luu Youth Team said: “Overall, this year, the Quynh Luu Youth Team is not as strong as previous years. The physical condition of the players is not that good. With the attention and support of the district leaders and parents, this year, we still hope that the players will practice and compete well to bring home results. Our goal is to reach the semi-finals.”

Currently in Quynh Luu area, there are 2 amateur gifted football classes opened by Song Lam Nghe An Club, one stationed in the town and one in Son Hai commune. That is also a great advantage for Quynh Luu gifted football team and coach in the preparation for the tournament. Another advantage for Quynh Luu gifted football team is that the children are given the opportunity to practice at a district gymnasium instead of an artificial turf field.

In the lineup of Quynh Luu Youth Football Team this year, the most prominent and expected face is Tran Nhat Hoang from Son Hai Commune. He is currently a member of the U11 SLNA team and will be the leader of Quynh Luu Youth Football Team in the upcoming tournament. The remaining faces are being trained by Coach To Minh Trung.

Sharing about the team's situation, Coach To Minh Trung said: "Quynh Luu ND team has selected the core to participate in the tournament, but still cannot enter the technical and tactical training phase because the kids have not had summer vacation yet. The quality of this year's team is not as good as last year's, but we still play our best with the goal of helping the kids have a rewarding and exciting summer."

In terms of both levels, the Children's and Youth teams, Quynh Luu is not considered a top candidate for the championship. However, with the dedication of the young coaches and the passion of the children, especially the enthusiastic support of the district and parents, Quynh Luu promises to be a formidable opponent at the 23rd Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth-Youth Football Tournament./.
