With the national team winning a ticket to the 2019 Asian Cup, Vietnamese football has set an unprecedented record in history, on par with Japan and Korea.

Coach Park Hang Seo made his debut for the country’s football fans with a 0-0 draw against Afghanistan. Although he only got one point, it was enough to help the Vietnamese team win a ticket to the 2019 Asian Cup for the first time in history.

Bóng đá Việt Nam tạo nên kỉ lục rất đáng nể trong năm 2017.
Vietnamese football set a very impressive record in 2017.

With this achievement, Vietnamese football has gone through a year with a series of remarkable achievements. Specifically, 6 national teams all participated in the Asian Finals in 2017.

First of all, U16 Vietnam qualified for the 2018 AFC U16 Championship. Next is the success of U19 Vietnam, even being chosen as the number 1 seed in the 2018 AFC U19 Championship. U23 Vietnam participated in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship for two consecutive times.

Although the Vietnamese futsal team only finished 4th in the Southeast Asian tournament, they still earned a ticket to the 2018 Asian Futsal Championship in Taiwan. The Vietnamese women's team also registered to compete in the 2018 Asian Cup.

This is an achievement that not every team can achieve, even the top teams in Asia. The teams that can win all 6 tickets to 6 Asian finals in just 1 year in Asia include Thailand, Japan, Korea and Jordan.

This is clearly an extremely impressive achievement that Vietnamese football has made in 2017.
