Fireworks trading, sentenced to prison

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 1, at the People's Committee of Quynh Thuan commune, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a mobile court to try the case of trading in prohibited goods against defendant Kieu Ngoc Ban, born in 1973, in hamlet 4, Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district.

With the aim of making a profit during the Lunar New Year of Binh Than, Kieu Ngoc Ban made a deal with a man around 50 years old to buy 39.1 kg of various types of firecrackers. At around 7:30 a.m. on December 23, 2015, Kieu Ngoc Ban sold to Le Tuan Anh, born in 2000, residing in Hong Phong hamlet, An Hoa commune (Quynh Luu district) 100 firecrackers, weighing 0.2 kg, for VND260,000.

While transporting the above firecrackers for sale, Le Tuan Anh was caught red-handed by the authorities. Through Le Tuan Anh's testimony and a search at Kieu Ngoc Ban's house, Quynh Luu District Police seized an additional 38.9 kg of firecrackers.

At the trial, defendant Kieu Ngoc Ban admitted all his crimes and was sentenced to 16 months in prison for trafficking in prohibited goods.
