Localities launch mass mobilization to do irrigation in 2022
(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the National Day of Irrigation and Traffic Construction on October 16, many localities in Nghe An province organized ceremonies to launch the national campaign to build irrigation works; strengthen the development of small-scale irrigation and intra-field irrigation; prevent and combat drought and saltwater intrusion, and prepare for spring crop production.

* In the districtDo Luong,On the morning of October 16, thousands of people joined forces to build internal irrigation works. Typically, communes with large numbers of people joining forces were Yen Son, Trung Son, Tru Son, Dai Son, Dong Son, Xuan Son, Bai Son, and Nhan Son.
Across the fields, farmers have mobilized resources and manpower to dredge canals, build embankments, and upgrade regional and field banks to ensure adequate drainage and supply of irrigation water for production.

In Yen Son commune, 1,000 workers were mobilized to dredge and clear 2 km of canals. Trung Son commune focused on dredging and clearing a level 1 concrete canal along the dike through the area from hamlet 1 to hamlet 3, over 3 km long.
As planned, during the periodmobilize to do water transportThis year, Do Luong district's mass organizations will dredge 50 km of canals, plant over 5,000 tamarind trees and pave the roads.
*In Nghia Dan district,In this year's irrigation campaign, Nghia Dan district strives to achieve an estimated volume of over 1,500 m3 of dredging canal mud and soil; repairing damaged works after storms and floods, and completing intra-field traffic.

Along with that, focus on repairing the banks of the area, the banks of the plots, repairing bridges, drainage culverts, canals, pumping stations, and clearing traffic routes in the whole district with a budget of about 16 billion VND.
*In Con Cuong district,Since the beginning of 2022, the country has suffered many natural disasters such as storms and floods, causing damage and landslides on many roads and internal irrigation works...

Therefore, in this campaign, the districtCon CuongDirecting communes to start irrigation work, planning to cut grass and clear over 25,000 m2, dredge 1,884 m3 of canals, and build embankments on 2,500 m3 of plots.
Focus on repairing key works, dredging canal systems, building regional and field embankments combined with intra-field traffic; repairing temporary dams, solidifying irrigation canals to get water for production; cleaning up the environment, clearing stagnant ponds, clearing sewers to prevent disease for people and livestock after floods.
Currently, localities continue to deploy irrigation projects to ensure spring crop production and overcome the consequences of recent floods.
