Localities give wheelchairs to the disabled and hand over charity houses
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 23, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans (VNA) in coordination with the Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans of Dien Chau and Yen Thanh districts (Nghe An) presented wheelchairs to people with disabilities in the district.
* 65 disabled people in difficult circumstances in the district were given wheelchairs suitable for their disabilities and were instructed on how to use the vehicles safely and conveniently.
On this occasion, the Association for the Support of the Disabled and the Handicapped in Dien Chau district presented 65 gifts to the disabled who received wheelchairs.

Dien Chau currently has nearly 12,000 disabled people. Every year, in addition to launching a fund raising campaign with an amount of about 1.5 billion VND, the Association also mobilizes benefactors to support production and transportation for the disabled. To date, more than 500 disabled people in Dien Chau have been given wheelchairs.
* On the same day, the Vietnam Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans came to Yen Thanh to present 30 wheelchairs to the disabled in the area.
Yen Thanh district currently has over 4,000 disabled people. From 2012 to now, through various forms of assistance, the district has called for support of 30-40 wheelchairs for disabled people each year through various programs.
It is known that this time, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Support of the Disabled and Handicapped presented 520 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in 19 districts and towns in Nghe An.
* On October 23, the Women's Union of Thai Hoa town presented a warm house to member Tran Thi Lan in Quang Thinh block, Quang Tien ward.

Ms. Tran Thi Lan has a particularly difficult situation, her family is poor, both children are disabled, and the house has been dilapidated for many years.
Faced with that situation, in June 2017, with the donations and support of the Women's Union of the town, her brothers and neighbors, Ms. Lan's house with a total area of 90 square meters was started to be built.
To date, after more than 4 months of construction, the project has been completed and put into use with a total value of nearly 180 million VND. Of which, the Women's Union of the town supported 20 million VND, this is the amount the Association deducted from the charity shelter fund.
On this occasion, the Fatherland Front of Thai Hoa town and the Association for the Support of the Disabled and the Disabled of the town also presented 20 million VND to the family of Ms. Tran Thi Lan.
